The importance of English language

In recent years, English has grown in importance in Afghanistan, attracting more importance due to its central use in all fields. The language is learned and studied by more and more people with every passing day because of its two importance’s in this modern world; a mean of communicating and creating a greater opportunity for a job.

The first importance of English language is as the mean to communicate in the interconnected and interdependent world. Nowadays, English is the ‘International Language’ and it is also used as second language of many countries in the world. Therefore, we can realize the importance in communication of this language. People who  can communicate in English, do so more easily in any country.

The other importance of the language is that it creates a greater opportunity for a job. As we know, in this modern world, businesses are targeting high quality employees;with the ability to work in English being one of those qualities. Consequently, if we know English and are good at it, we will have more chances to get a job. Moreover, with an enough amount of knowledge in English, the possibility of promotion in position is even higher.

In brief, we cannot deny the importance of English language in this modern world. This language helps us to express thinking and feelings, to talk, to exchange views, and to contract between person and person though wherever we live. We can predict that English language will continue to develop and bring us more advantages in the near future.

The main objective of English courses:

The objective of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English; and specifically to use English terminologies related to agricultural subjects. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to critically scrutinize academic materials and to express themselves in English, both verbally and in writing.

Every class has three teaching hours per week, adding 2 credits in total.

NAEC’s English training course includes the following subjects taught to students over the two years:

1st Semester:

  • Basic Grammar
  • Fundamental conversation
  • Basic agriculture vocabulary

2nd Semester:

  • Pre-intermediate Grammar
  • Agricultural +Social words
  • Pre-intermediate conversation +Topics + TV show

3rd Semester:

  • Intermediate Grammar
  • Business Vocabulary
  • Pre-intermediate conversation +Topics+ TV show

4th Semester:

  • English Language Composition
  • Extra vocabulary + Idioms
  • Writing
